Has anyone ever seen quartz with parts of it that are purple?  https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipNO1QADGdWOuMDSqtEIuTcMI1OL7RD9KGV1FJuC

DD,

No good on your links - they just aren't working.

Now - purple quartz is called Amethyst and the darker the purple color the more cherished it is.  A GREAT semi-precious mineral.  🤩

Here is some information:

Go For It!

Like Joe mentioned it looks to be amethyst with a little mineralization running through it from the looks of it.  Quartz can be found in various colors other than clear or cloudy and purple like you found.  There are several other common such as Rose and a gold or yellow colored which is called Citrine.  It is found in other colors as well but is not very common.

Thanks for your help. Both of you. I just didn't realize I guess it can be found locally in Georgia. I've only been here for 9 years. Thanks again

DD -

Watch more videos here - Doc has sometimes mentioned the gems found in the areas they go to and you'll be surprised what there is to be found.
